Dear Patients & Families,<\/p>\n
As you may be aware, on May 11, 2023, the Federal government declared the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE). In response, Palliative Medicine Consultants (PMC) have updated our COVID-19 guidelines for our staff, volunteers, patients, and families. They are as follows:<\/p>\n
\nWearing a mask is OPTIONAL for staff, volunteers, patients, and families.<\/li>\n Wearing a mask is REQUIRED in the following circumstances:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nAt the request of patients and families<\/li>\n Patients who have tested positive for COVID-19<\/li>\n Patients who are showing symptoms of respiratory illness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nWe fully support the right of any staff member to wear a mask.<\/li>\n We will no longer require staff and volunteers to ask screening questions prior to patient visits.<\/li>\n Our care teams will continue to follow infection prevention protocols to reduce the transmission of any respiratory infections.<\/li>\n We may increase precautions when transmission and infection rates in our community are trending high.<\/li>\n We will continue to coordinate closely with local, state, and federal health agencies.<\/li>\n We will abide by any future vaccination requirements for healthcare workers imposed by the State and\/or Federal governments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nFor questions or concerns, please call 301-527-4070.<\/p>\n
